Silk within the snowfall, wings upon the wind
Austere parent, erring child; latent lover, forlorn friend
I was the rock that sheltered you, I was your saving grace
Present without warning, and gone without a trace
And what have you to show now, for this sorrow without end?
You stand the tragic champion of the mass
Once again we take our places, once again the dance begins
This turn no less condemned than the last

Blood upon the crystal, and clouds before the Moon
Hold the course of fate until the faintness makes you swoon
And when your emptied body falls, broken and disgraced
This tender touch you’ve never known will be your resting place
One must ever play the predator, the other play the prey
Our game runs on, despite the test of time
And in the sight of every god, in spite of what they say
I’ll take you as my prize, and name you mine

See . . .

Mother cries tonight
She veils her face in shrouds of silver
‘Neath the pale starlight
Her tears fall down like drops of silver
Silent in the night
I stand alone in fields of silver
A witness to the sight
The world is wreathed in Winter’s silver
As wrong becomes my right . . .
   Mother cries tonight

Satin strands on porcelain, and ice encasing fire
Voices rise to sing your hymn; the faithful guard your pyre
And when the final note has died, when all is done and said
My blade will pledge the finish to these tortured lives we’ve led
I will lay me down beside you, I will kiss you fond farewell
My final breath will serve to speak your name
And as the dark of endless Night this damned day overwhelms
My spirit will yet follow you again.

And Mother cries tonight
She veils her face in shrouds of silver
‘Neath the pale starlight
Her tears fall down like drops of silver
Silent in the night
We lie alone in fields of silver
A witness to the sight
The world is wreathed in Winter’s silver
As wrong becomes my right . . .
   Mother cries tonight
A nocturne of nightmares, the song of finality.

I must profess to be intregued dear sir by both your stirring words and elegant artistry. For long I have admired wordlessly, your work and your mannerisms becoming somewhat a silenced shadow, tredding where your footsteps have led me. This piece however has caused me to dilvulge my joy of your works thus far in as much as I have had to add it to favourites to remember it always. Forgive me my uncordial approach, I hope I have offended you little and you would not be so adverse to me continuing to watch your work a little more openly in the future. Thank you for you precious time *Sofiel bow* M'lord, I should hope you continue to delight us all.
